ROBERT KOLT SR.

ROBERT (BOB) KOLT SR. It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Robert (Bob) Kolt Sr. on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Left to cherish Bob's memories are Judy, his wife of 52 years; son Jack (Sheryl) Kolt; daughter Debbie (Jeff) Kot; son Bob Jr. (Joanne) Kolt; and his beloved grandchildren, Cass, Becky, Matthew, Brady, Christopher, Brianna and Marisa Lynne. Bob took tremendous joy and pride in the many accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Bob will also be sadly missed by his twin brother, Richard (Bev) Kolt; sister Linda (Doug) Johnson; many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his mother Lee and father Jack Kolt Sr. With his father Jack and brother Richard, Bob cofounded and successfully expanded and operated Kolt Music School and Sales for 49 years with multiple locations across Winnipeg. His entrepreneurial drive led him to pursue other business ventures including electronic sales and repairs, video gaming, and eventually developing a passion for consulting in the gold mining industry. Bob loved to entertain. The Kolt Brothers band, a Manitoba institution for over 20 years, performed at countless weddings and special occasions while recording numerous albums along the way. One of Bob's favourite songs to sing was the Blue Bombers Fighting Song, written by his brother Richard in the 1970s. In compliance with Bob's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. The family wishes to extend special thanks and sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Simkin Centre for the loving care and comfort they provided Bob and our family during his stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre, 1 Falcon Ridge Drive, Winnipeg MB, R3Y 1V9.
