Has been on the radio in NY for over 60 years, appeared on stages with the likes of Bob Dylan and Harry Belafonte, recorded some 70 albums, hosted Let's Sing Out, wrote "Something To Sing About (This Land of Ours)" and best of all...... Oscar the Grouch is named for him! He was a member of the original Children's Television Workshop when they created Sesame Street and they named the grouchy character after him because he was so fastidious at meetings that he ticked people off. What a proud fact for Manitobans.
