LOGAN AVENUE COMFORT STATION
The Logan Avenue Comfort Station. Taking their name from the notorious public facility, this quartet was Winnipeg’s best-loved hippie band in the summer of love. Comprised of Greg Leskiw, Bill Wallace (both later joining the Guess Who), Mark Freed and Craig Hamblin, Logan Avenue played the music of Moby Grape, Buffalo Springfield, and Cream. The headbands, moccasins and tie-dyes belied an amazingly gifted and exciting group of musicians who stole every show they opened for.
